Built in two days, Beijing’s first “Huo-Yan” Fire Eye laboratory for conducting COVID-19 tests went into trail operation on June, 23, 2020.
The temporary laboratory is built inside a sports center in Daxing District, Beijing, where a new cluster of infections recently broke out.
With nine air-inflated film chamber, the laboratory accommodates a total of 14 automated COVID-19 testing machines and can cope with 30,000 nucleic acid test samples per day.
With another Fire Eye being built in Xicheng District, the city’s testing capacity will be greatly increased.
