Hangzhou Asian Games flame was lit on Thursday at the Liangzhu ancient city, marking the 100-day countdown to the opening of the Games. Nineteen flame collectors walked up the steps before one of them lit a torch from the rays of the sun using a concave mirror. The ceremony was held at the Liangzhu ancient site, which boasts some of the earliest recorded evidence of Chinese civilization that can be traced back to 3,300 years B.C. The torch lighting and torch relay launching ceremony will be held at Hangzhou’s scenic landmark West Lake in mid-September.
