After six years of construction, Dalian Subway Line 5, the first undersea subway line in northeast China, officially entered operation on March 17. Line 5 runs for 24.48 kilometers between Hutan Xinqu Station in the south and Houguan Station in the north. It will shorten total commuting time from nearly two hours to just 40 minutes. Main suspension structure of key high-speed railway bridge completed in SW China
Construction of the main suspension structure of a cross-river rail bridge, a key section of the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway, was officially completed. Spanning the Tuojiang River in Luzhou City, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, the mega-railway bridge is 2,613 meters in length, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway, linking two major cities of China’s southwest, will slash the travel time between them from nearly five hours to just two hours when it is completed in 2025.
