Shanghai’s consumer market has bounced back after a long cold winter amid the pandemic with revitalized consumer confidence, ready for the coming Double Five Shopping Festival in May. According to the Shanghai Statistics Bureau, February data shows the city’s total retail sales of consumer goods up 91.5 percent from a year earlier to around 138 billion yuan (US$21.12 billion).
