Early summer marks the beginning of harvest time for blueberries, a fruit that benefit people’s livelihood in Nachong village in SW China’s Guitzhou province.
Nachong village used to be a less-developed area with few job opportunities for its young people.
In 2016, the village turned 19.98 hectares of land into blueberry fields, enabling its villagers, most of whom are from the Miao ethnic group, to employed locally.
So far, more than 320 people have joined local blueberry cooperative, and besides the sales revenue, farmland tourism has become their new source of income.
