More than 150 tourist attractions in Shanghai recorded 1.17 million visits on Saturday, the third day of the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, 82 percent of last year’s figure.

The Bund had 210,100, down 44.7 percent from the same day last year, while the Yuyuan Garden scenic area and Lujiazui welcomed 48,700 and 223,600, up 0.05 percent and 0.91 percent, according to the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism. The Shanghai International Resort received 85,000 visits, growing 11.5 percent, and scenic areas on Chongming Island had 78,000 in total, surging 99.6 percent. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower received 23,000, or 82 percent of last year’s, and Zhujiajiao watertown 24,000, 43 percent of last year’s, according to the administration. “My son would need to undergo a 14-day quarantine if we left Shanghai based on the requirements of his school, so our family decided to spend the holiday in the city,” said Chen Min, a local mother of a third-grader.

“It is a tradition of our family to make a trip during the holiday, but it is also good to explore the beauty on our doorstep.” The family toured Jinshan City Beach on Friday. “It was very crowded, but we still had a pleasant time,” she said. The family also plans to visit Pujiang Countryside Park and Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Fifty-four galleries citywide received a combined 32,000 visits, about the same as last year, the administration said. Ninty-three museums welcomed 105,000 visits, down 12 percent.
