Shanghai ranked first among all Chinese cities in subway mileage, which reached 735.53 kilometers by June 30 this year. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, according to the railway transportation report released by the China Association of Metros.
As of June 30, a total of 40 cities in China had built subway lines, with a total length of 6,641.73 kilometers in operation. Nineteen cities saw their mileage exceed 100 kilometers, and 11 cities had more than 200 kilometers of subway lines. Let’s have a look at the top 10 Chinese cities by subway mileage.
No 1 Shanghai: 735.53 kilometers, No 2 Beijing: 653 kilometers, No 3 Chengdu: 518.5 kilometers, No 4 Guangzhou: 505.7 kilometers, No 5 Shenzhen: 410.9 kilometers, No 6 Wuhan: 358.8 kilometers, No 7 Hangzhou: 317.7 kilometers, No 8 Chongqing: 269 kilometers, No 9 Xi’an: 252.7 kilometers, No 10 Suzhou: 210 kilometers
