Only Zhu Lin, one of the five Chinese attendees, enters AO Round 2. On the second match day of Australia Open (AO), the rest four of the total five Chinese attendees kicked off their women’s singles journey in the Southern Hemisphere, but only Zhu Lin entered the next round as she made short work of 18-year-old competitor Whitney Osuigwe of the U.S. in the first round, winning 6-1, 6-1 in just over an hour. “Crested Ibis,” a dance drama led by Chinese veteran dancer Zhu Jiejing along with the Shanghai Dance Theater, reflected the beauty of nature and the Eastern culture. The crested ibis is a type of bird species that is on the brink of extinction, and China has been taking measures to protect the species and their habitat over the past years. The rare species was well portrayed through Zhu’s elegant dance moves. Watch the video:
